Translation of Japanese language content in the MY808S Moisture Checker Operation Guide

GRAPHS:

The three graphs show the distribution of moisture readings for the T-zone (top), edge of eye (middle) and underside of forearm (bottom) defining dry, normal, and wet skin ranges.

Interpretation:

For example, the range of moisture content reading considered “normal” for the eye is 40-54%.

Or, under the forearm a reading below 36% is considered “dry.”

Please note these data were collected in Japan and are only intended to be used as one sample of relative measure of the degree of hydration.  Baselines may vary.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

How deep does the Checker measure the hydration?

80% of the reading is influenced by the top 10 microns, 90% by the top 200 microns, yielding a reading that relates closest to the depth of skin that hydration is important to be checking.

What if the reading seems off?

Check 2-3 times near the same area, as on occasion the sensor may show erroneous numbers due to poor positioning, failure to clean the sensor, etc.  And be sure fresh batteries are always used.

How hard should be Checker be pushed against the skin?

The sensor is spring-loaded, and it must be pushed so that it goes into the Checker housing.  Only minimal pressure is needed to accomplish this.

How should the sensor be cleaned?

Use a tissue or dry cloth.  Non-oily alcohol can be used, but avoid marring or coating the sensor surface.
